St. Pius X is known for grand visions and the ability to carry out those visions. Once again the parish came through on both counts. What a response we had to our call for volunteers! Utilizing the vision and project management skills of Tom Farrell, the forces were marshaled to landscape the pastor’s grounds, clear the alley of brush, work on the playgrounds, clean the gym windows, clean out the plaza beds, power wash a number of walkways and the biggest project, landscape the front and side of the parish hall. The tons of stone, the yards of sand, planting soil and mulch and the hundreds of plants were fashioned by our parishioners to make this a beautiful extension of our previous big landscaping project - the plaza area. Two Eagle Scout projects, one by Joe Guzman, Jr. and the other by Steven Hale were also incorporated.

As with all projects there are a few people that need special acknowledgement. In order to make the weekend successful, a number of people took off work to do preliminary work. They are Tom Farrell, Jon Sherman, Curtis Jaska, Chuck Cale, John Farrell, Frank Puskarich, David Williams and Steve Priddy. |
The Men’s Club and Ladies Society hydrated and feed the troops. The wonderful volunteers that made this project a great success are listed below.
