BARTHEL, JOHN E. worked as an
architect for the firm of Belli and Belli in Chicago before joining the Dahl
firm in Dallas. Dahl's office was at St. Paul and Woodall Rodgers
Freeway but the building is no longer there. John is the primary
designer of the church and rectory which is widely recognized for the
striking beauty. John retired in 1991.
This is a very extraordinary man, his art work is simply beautiful and
includes oil, pen and ink, and sculpture. Among his many
accomplishments, John built his house in North East Dallas in 1959.
This house received the 25 Year Residential Award from ArchitectureWeek in
